Harlan County Business Park

Open For Development

Harlan County Business Park is found in the heart of the Tri-Cities of Harlan County. With a rich industrial history rooted in the coal industry, our community is investing in this property to grow and diversify our economy for the future. More than 140 acres are available for development on this site and one lot has already been prepared for construction, meeting strict criteria of the Kentucky Certified Build Ready standards.

Infrastructure

Build Ready

Kentucky's Build-Ready sites must meet strict standards ensuring that an industrial project can locate on the site with minimal risk. Some of the criteria for Build-Ready certification include the completion of a building pad that would allow for the construction of a building with a minimum size of 50,000 square feet and expandable to 100,000 square feet, Environmental Phase I, Geotechnical Study, Archaeological & Historical Site Assessment, and Stream and Wetlands Mitigation. In addition to this, Build-Ready sites must have agreements with utility providers ensuring their capacity to serve an industrial tenant and agreements to complete any required infrastructure upgrades. A final component is the requirement to have preliminary design and construction plans for an industrial building to be constructed on the pad. To see a full list of criteria, click here.
